Timestamps and scheduling guides
Verify the next Cron runs with a fixed start and zone
Create a repeatable schedule preview and inspect local times, UTC instants and offsets before deployment.
Fix all inputs
A preview generated from now changes each time it is opened. A reproducible fixture needs an expression, timezone and fixed starting instant.
Specify a start with an offset to avoid local-time ambiguity. Nav Tools lists executions strictly after that start, not including a matching start itself.
Expression: 0 9 * * 1-5
Timezone: Asia/Shanghai
After: 2024-01-01T00:00:00Z
First: 2024-01-01 09:00:00 +08:00Inspect both displays
The local datetime answers when a person in the selected zone sees the job run. The UTC ISO value identifies its absolute instant.
Check that the offset matches the selected date. A zone with daylight saving can show a different offset elsewhere in the same year.
Use enough future runs
A single next run cannot reveal weekend filtering, monthly rollover or a repeated calendar condition. Preview several runs around a known boundary.
Nav Tools allows up to 50 results. An impossible schedule may fail to produce a result; do not turn an error into an assumed future execution.
Preview is not deployment proof
A library preview does not confirm that the hosted scheduler is enabled, uses the same dialect or has permission to run the job.
Check scheduler configuration and an actual dry-run execution path where supported. Save the fixture for regression when timezone data or dependencies change.
